What is NMS (Neuromuscular Stimulator)?

Neuromuscular Stimulator (NMS) is an electrotherapy device used to stimulate muscles electrically. It sends electrical impulses to the muscles through electrodes placed on the skin, which mimic the natural signals that come from the brain. This stimulation causes the muscles to contract.

How it works

  1. You put on wet suit that we supply (Boiling water is used to wet the suit; we wring it out prior to you putting it on).
  2. Elastic bands with electrodes are then placed on your biceps (or calves), abdomen, gluteals, and thighs.
  3. You are assisted to a prone position (face down) on the table.
  4. The 30 minute session then begins.
    • The NMS device sends low-frequency electrical impulses through the electrodes. These impulses are designed to stimulate the motor nerves, which control muscle contractions. When the electrical impulses reach the motor nerves, they trigger the muscles to contract, mimicking the action of voluntary muscle movement.
    • The machine repeatedly contracts your muscles-on for 7 seconds then off for 3 seconds for 30 minutes. We are able to adjust the intensity and frequency of the contractions for each individual muscle group.
    • In a 30-minute session, your muscles are contracted 50,000 times which is equivalent to a 4-hour intense workout at the gym.

NMS Has 5 Different Program Options
(Click Below To Learn More)

  • Purpose: To increase muscle size and strength
  • How it Works: This program uses high-intensity electrical pulses to stimulate muscle fibers, promoting muscle contractions at a level that helps induce hypertrophy (muscle growth). The impulses trigger micro-tears in the muscle fibers, which, as they repair, result in muscle enlargement and increased strength over time. This program is often used for athletic conditioning, muscle rehabilitation, and body sculpting.
  • Purpose: To enhance body shape and define muscle structure
  • How it Works: The contouring program targets specific muscle groups to improve muscle tone and definition. Electrical impulses are delivered at moderate intensity to stimulate muscle contractions, which can help tighten and firm the targeted areas. This program is often used to enhance the appearance of muscles, reduce areas of sagging, and sculpt the body without the need for invasive procedures.
  • Purpose: To reduce the appearance of cellulite and improve skin texture
  • How it Works: This program utilizes a combination of gentle electrical pulses and muscle contractions to stimulate the underlying tissues. It helps improve blood circulation, break down fat deposits, and encourage lymphatic drainage, which can reduce the dimpled appearance of cellulite. Regular use can smooth and firm the skin, reducing the visibility of cellulite in areas like the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen.
  • Purpose: To promote detoxification and reduce swelling by improving lymphatic circulation
  • How it Works: The lymphatic drainage program uses gentle, rhythmic electrical impulses to stimulate the lymphatic system, encouraging the natural flow of lymph fluid throughout the body. This helps remove waste products and excess fluids, reducing swelling and promoting detoxification. It’s often used for general health, post-surgery recovery, and to help with conditions like edema or water retention.
  • Purpose: To aid in muscle recovery and reduce soreness after physical exertion or injury
  • How it Works: The recovery program uses low-frequency electrical impulses to promote muscle relaxation, reduce inflammation, and improve blood circulation. This helps to flush out metabolic waste products like lactic acid that build up in muscles after intense activity. The improved circulation also enhances the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to muscles, speeding up the healing process. It’s commonly used by athletes or individuals recovering from injury to alleviate muscle stiffness, soreness, and fatigue, promoting faster recovery and improved muscle performance.

Therapeutic Benefits of NMS
(Click Below To Learn More)

It helps stimulate muscle activity in weakened or atrophied muscles, promoting strength, endurance, and recovery after injury or surgery.

The stimulation helps improve blood circulation, reduce muscle tightness, and release endorphins, which can alleviate pain.

It helps restore normal muscle function and can reduce muscle spasms and cramps.
